Homepage-Baukasten Redesign CMS bald mit mehreren Seiten statt Single Page

Die wichtigsten Features

Redesign CMS is already a versatile site builder - for single-page sites, as introduced in this LinkedIn Pulse Post. Frequent question (and mostly the first one): what if I want to create a site with multiple pages? Well, a multi-page version will be available soon. Although I am a fan of snackable one-page content, a multi-page website builder provides more flexibilty - in particular for sites with more than 20 articles. In fact, the multi-page extension already exists, I am just about to refine and test it prior to making it available to the public. Here's a sneak preview, a German vacation site again: Nordseewoge. As you see, it's lightning-fast like the single page version

  • Ease-of-use: sign-up, get an edit link, start editing
  • Two content types: site data (about you) and articles (your content)
  • Articles with header, description, text, images, embedded content
  • Articles can be assigned an expiration date
  • Articles can be sorted by date of creation (if used liked a blog), update or a custom order you set
  • Professional look: Bootstrap 4 Cards
  • Mobile: Bootstrap ensures mobile-friendliness
  • Twitter Card: add a site image and tweet your page with an image
  • Easy embedding in web pages with an iframe
  • No hosting required! Should you want a static URL or a domain, go for easy hosting with FileZilla or a service like Bitballoon

Additional specs and informaton for web-savvy users

  • Easy integration in web pages with iframe or, better, with a script
  • Content integration via a script allows CSS styling of all HTML elements
  • Canonical link compatible if you host your Redesign page on another server
  • Google Analytics: just enter your tracking code ID
  • Structured data (currently available only for hotel and B&B content types, but support for more types coming soon)
  • Hosting: many options – please give us feedback on how you did it!

Ist Webdesign tot?

Web design is dead. Today it is all about content design.

This article from UX Magazine refers to web design as a discipline, but the same also holds true for web design services and site builders: "... We need fewer web pages, not more of them. There are already too many competing for our attention and assuming selfishly that we have all the time in the world to close pop-up ads, explore navigational hierarchies, and be dazzled by transitions, intros, and effects."

"Old-school web design" – where a publisher needed a web designer just to get things online – is or should be dead, indeed. However, the specialized disciplines within web design will not die in the foreseeable future, whether they relate to the artistic aspects, technical development or web app development.

Content design needs quick, simple site builder tools

There are lots of site builders out there and, consequently, a plethora of reviews, ratings and reports on sites like pcmag.com and sitebuilderreport.com.

In these reviews, only three achieved a rating of 4/5 or 5/5: Squarespace, Weebly and Wix. These ratings, however, refer to their overall performance across many features and are almost meaningless for a publisher or marketer who just wants to post a piece of content independently which means within a domain or subdomain (such as mysite.provider.com) of their own.

Redesign CMS - easy-to-use site builder for tourism sites

Want to build a simple single-page website or just publish an article page with no coding or technical hassle?

Then Redesign CMS is for you! You don't need any documentation to use this straightforward, user-friendly solution. This post on LinkedIn Pulse is your one-stop reference to find out what it is, what you can do with it and how to use it. And it's free!

Publishing needs are often just about content, not "design". For instance, your gospel choir wants a web site. You can choose one of the best templates offered by Squarespace (and they do have good ones), but you can be sure that no selection will appeal to all your fellow choir members. What everyone does like universally is a simple, clear article on their last concert with a great picture – as published in the press – to build their online hall of fame . This is a typical use case for our Redesign CMS: a style that is plain vanilla, but professional looking with basic design elements (in colors that match the choir's robes, perhaps), a blog-like article series and the occasional embedded YouTube video or sound recording.

Examples

  • Landhotel Heine in Kyritz, Brandenburg. A content-rich Redesign site that features vacation packages, tourism content, a full-width Google Slides presentation and a rather large image gallery from Imgur that shows new vacation homes.
  • Hotel am Kurpark in the southern Black Forest. Two summer vacation deals (with expiration dates, of course), an image gallery and a SlideShare presentation, plus a banner that aligns with their web site's brand.
  • Hotel Marieluise in Lueneburg Heath, northern Germany. Content-rich page, image gallery, embedded curation site highlighting local tourism options and the spa.
  • Hotel Seerose in Lindau, Lake Constance. One vacation offer and hotel rates with built-in Google Photo Sphere.
  • Vacation homes on the isle of Juist, North Sea. Tourism Information, details on home types, no rates but reference to price list, SlideShare.
  • North Sea vacation homes. Short articles, each of which presents seasonal rates or last-minute packages for vacancies. For this type of post, an expiration date is crucial. (The listing disappears on the expiration date, but it is not deleted, so the data can be reset.)
  • pension-westfalia.com. Here, Redesign CMS was used to build the English-language website for this B&B in Munich. It includes a description of the neighborhood, rooms, rates and embedded Google Photo Sphere.
